The count so far: 8 ram lambs, 1 ewe lamb. White, black and BROWN! Our first brown lamb, Theodore is living in the house -- much to the annoyance of our cats.
It was a whopping 27 degrees the morning of his birth. Hypothermia nearly did the little fellow in. I gave him a warm water bath and popped him in a laundry basket with a heating pad. By the end of the day he was ready for the playpen.

ReplyDeleteMay I ask how you hand shear? I would luv to learn how to hand shear with the sheep standing.
I start behind the ears and work my way back and down. Once the good fleece is shorn I put it in a bag. Then I shear the 'icky' stuff and toss it.
